Our Livestock

Hair Sheep-

Hair sheep are known for their ability to shed their winter wool. This allows for a much easier animal to manage, as they don't require crutching, or docking. They are also very hardy animals and handle Minnesota winters very well, but are also well acclimated for warmer climates. These sheep are also very vigorous when it comes to disease and parasite resistance. The only negative is that these breeds, especially horned, can be very timid. Their temperament may be shy but they are able to be tamed and learn how to interact with people and handlers very well.

Horned Breeds We Raise-

Corsican- A composition breed descended from Mouflon and horned wool breeds such as Merino and Navajo Churro. Subsets of the breed include American Blackbelly, Black Hawaiian, and Painted Desert.

Mouflon- An Eastern Europe breed of wild sheep. The breed was used to develop many composition breeds. There are subspecies such as the American Mouflon and Cyprus Mouflon, these have influence of other breeds.

Dall- Wild sheep native to North America. The breed has also been influenced in breeding creating other subspecies, including Texas Dall.
